Admission to Community Nursing Home Port Hope is done in cooperation with the Haliburton, Northumberland and Victoria Long term Care Access Center. They will explain all of the necessary procedures and encourage you to visit some area facilities. The Access to Care Center will complete the necessary application for long-term care placement and determines eligibility. They can be contacted at:

Financial Arrangements:
The rates for Community Nursing Home Port Hope and other Long Term Care Homes throughout the province are regulated by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.

The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care provides funding for homes. The amount paid by residents for their accommodations is called a “co-payment”. The co-payment changes from time to time (minimum yearly). Our Administrative staff would be happy to explain the current rates.

Additional costs such as hairdressing/barber services, cable TV, dentist/denturist, footcare services, newspaper delivery and telephone connections are a few examples of services that are subject to a fee and are the responsibility of the resident.
